How They're Wired is not a diagnosis

Effective: October 2, 2026 · Version: 0.1

How They're Wired is an educational service for adults about the children they care for. It asks a parent or legal guardian questions about a child's everyday behavior in different settings and returns a written description of the patterns in those answers, together with the evidence for each statement and suggestions of things to try at home.

How They're Wired is not a medical, psychological, developmental or educational assessment, screening instrument, test or diagnosis of any kind. It does not produce risk scores, predictions or clinical impressions. It does not provide therapy, psychotherapy, counseling or treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them. No result should be read as a statement that a child has, may have, or shows signs of any condition, disorder, disability or diagnosis. Results describe tendencies at one point in time, in the contexts the parent described, and they can be wrong; that is why every section asks the parent to rate whether it fits.

Where a result mentions talking to a professional, that is general information for parents, not a referral, recommendation or clinical opinion about a specific child. Any artificial-intelligence feature in How They're Wired is limited to parenting education, is identified as such, and does not provide mental-health or therapeutic services.

How They're Wired results are not designed for, and must not be used as evidence in, custody, school-placement, medical, insurance or legal decisions.
